About Blu:moza

Born and raised in the Ore Mountains, an area where craftsmanship always held a special place among its natives, it has been just natural for my family to manufacture and rebuild a wide variety of things by ourselves.

Early on as a child I quickly fell in love with the process of creating. I always loved to paint, to draw, to sew. I either had a pen or a paint brush in my hands and later I was constantly spotted with scissors, glue and construction paper. After I bought my first sewing machine, the drawn designs were then turned into (initially more or less wearable) fashion.

My passion for working with metals though was inherited from my father (a precision tool mechanic) and my grandfather (a professional watchmaker).

Since I am fascinated by the concept of adornment throughout the history of human kind, I prefer to use those precision tools to create unique pieces of jewellery.

I was influenced by two significant art-historical epochs, which have inspired me and still keep doing so: On the one hand Art Nouveau with the demand for a fusion of art and life and on the other hand Das Bauhaus with an intention to emancipate craft from industrialization. "The goal of all artistic activity is construction [...] Architects, sculptors, painters - everyone must go back to craft."

According to alchemy, an ancient branch of natural philosophy, gold is associated with the sun and silver is representing the moon. As I personally was born under a full moon, meaning the moon stood opposite the sun, it is one of my goals to combine these two contrary forces in my creations.

I primarily work with fair-trade and/or recycled silver and gold.

My designs are ever evolving as I am a student of life and of the experiences that shape me. In a way they are reflections of me growing and evolving myself.

I love to learn new skills along the way, thus trying out new techniques and combining different forms of art will always be one characteristic displayed in my creations.

I am sure you´ll find something unique. New products are regularly posted online, so it's definitely worth taking a look.

Thank you for being here with me.
